HURRICANE TRIBUTE
Dear Friends,
We have all been affected by the recent tragic hurricanes which left such devastation in the southeast. My daughter Hilary James & her husband Kevin DiSimone responded by composing a beautiful song, Better Day.
I hope it inspires all of you not to forget, that although the headlines have shifted to other topics, the recovery process from Katrina, Rita, & Wilma continues.
There have been many benefit concerts and the music community has responded in an inspiring way to raise funds in the continuing efforts to help the victims of the tragedies return to a normal life. Please visit www.redcross.org, www.americares.org, or www.secondharvest.org to help.
All proceeds from the download of "Better Day" will be donated to these hurricane relief funds.
Warmest regards,
Bob James
Is this America the free
could this be happening today
I can't believe the things I see
sometimes I want to look away
so many people
so alone
with nothing left to call their own
so many voices asking please
it really brings me to my knees
CHORUS
'Cause I can't wish away their pain
I can't wash away their fears
I can't hold the children in my arms
and wipe away their tears
But as I sit here in my room
and watch the madness on the screen
I can pray
for a better day
And now the sun shines down its light
on such a terrifying sight
on shattered lives and shattered bones
on broken hearts and broken homes
So when the moon comes out tonight
I'll take my child and hold her tight
and though she doesn't understand
we'll bow our heads and fold our hands
CHORUS
I can sit here feeling helpless
I can hang my head and cry
I don't have all the answers
But I can still ask Why
CHORUS
